Resounding sculptures on the sound trail in the Our Nature Park

Station 12:
Tubes and Bells Row

Aluminum tubes are easy to tune. If you shorten the tube by .9715 of its original length, the pitch will raise by one half step. This row is tuned to the key of G. Have fun playing your favorite songs!

Station 13:
Forest Gong

This large tubular bell is long and thin like a tree trunk. The deep bass note that it produces lasts for a minute, but can only be made when it is struck with a heavy branch. If on is standing close enough, they will feel the vibrations with their entire body. When you glide your finger delicately over the metal, you can also feel the vibration-free oscillation-junction at 22.4% of its length. This is also where the reinforcement holes are bored so that the sound can develop without disturbance.

Station 16:
Earth Xylophone

The Earth xylophone is inspired by the African great xylophone. Like its predecessor, the earth xylophone can be played by many players at once. It is not intended to play familiar tunes, rather for communal improvisation with movement patterns. Of course, one may use the earth xylophone as a table, as well, because tables are important places of communication, like musical instruments. The sound is amplified by an earthen pit which also allows the entire body to feel the vibration of the music.
